Back in March 2024, I had the honour to meet with Mr Samuel Lim, Academic Director and Group Principal at Indigo Education. At that time, my centre was still undergoing renovations.
Fast forward 1.5 years, I’m beyond grateful to welcome one of the most respected educators, the driving force behind the most sought after education brand, to visit my humble set-up.
To tell the truth, the lead-up to our meeting was nerve-wracking. But it was not because Mr Lim is intimidating. Quite the opposite – he is one of the warmest and most genuine mentors you could hope to meet. Still, I tossed and turned in bed the night before, unsure if I had achieved enough to show.
I treasured every minute of our almost two-hour conversation – his insights, encouragement, and presence meant the world.
Every day, I grill my students about self-drive and internal motivation. But the truth is, we often grow faster with an external source of motivation – someone we feel accountable to.
Mr Lim, thank you for your mentorship, for taking the time to share a cup of coffee, and for showing me the path ahead.
